I had my latest MRI on Monday. Wednesday my neurologist told me it was stable with no sign of disease! I have to wait until Monday when I meet with the oncologist to see how long we can go before the next MRI. I'm thrilled.
I slipped on the ice last week and hurt my ankle and wrist on my right side. I've gone to physical therapy a couple times and she's told me that I have a pulled muscle in my calf that, when swollen, cuts off the nerve that goes to my ankle and foot. I also pulled a few tiny bones in my hand near my wrist and the tendons/bones system isn't situated correctly. I'm working on it though. This also means I haven't been running for the last two weeks. I wasn't even working towards my 10k steps per day goal. I'm finally walking without pain or getting pain towards the end of the day.
I will get back to training once I'm healed. In the meantime, I'm still working on fundraising for my team for the Race for Hope 5k on May 3rd. If you haven't checked out my page, please do so here. Or you can read my race dedicated blog post.
I'm super excited for my First Descents week long adventure in May. FD is a charity group that provides week long outdoor adventures for young adult cancer survivors for free. I'm going outdoor rock climbing in Moab, Utah. I've only been out west once and that was in high school to go to Anaheim.
While I'm happy for myself and my family, I'm also sad for my friend Lori. She's back in the hospital for her second round of chemo. The first round didn't work as well as they hoped so they had to change up the treatment. She's in pain most of the time and they're worried her disease has spread to her brain or spine, due to constant migraines. Please pray for her.
