So many people have offered to help us in whatever way they can, or that we need. We are so blessed to have such amazing family and friends. To organize the effort, Charles did an awesome job making a couple shared calendars for our needs.
If you're local, we could use delivered meals, help with household chores (laundry and dishes), driving me to appointments as the need arises, running errands, and fill-in childcare. The care calendar schedule will continually change as we know what comes our way. Charles will update the calendar, write a blog post about the new need, and post it to my facebook wall. Initially, we'll need continuous care for the kids while I'm in the hospital and Charles is staying with me. Hopefully, we can gather family members to take care of our children during that hardest part.
Out of state friends and family can contribute to our meals by buying gift cards through our mealbaby registry. It takes about 7-14 days for those to get to us. We would also appreciate grocery gift cards to Giant or Target to fill in for breakfasts and lunches. Add me to your prayer lists and church prayer groups.
*Addition* Our grocery store, Giant, offers a home delivery service called Pea Pod. We can make our regular weekly grocery list, save it for multiple uses, and order the food to be delivered right to our door the next day. Gift cards to Giant or for delivery fees of Pea Pod would be an amazing help too.
If you would like to help our kids adjust to having me gone and recovering, doing something special would be great for them too. Send pictures. Skype. Visit. Whatever you think of to help them would be amazing. We are trying to maintain a positive outlook and sense of humor. Distractions like funny articles and playing app games help too.
We will also need help with our general dispositions. So many people have already reached out to us to pray and offer sympathy. We are so touched seeing how much support we have. We have already heard many stories of people with my condition having fabulous outcomes. Hearing those will never get old.
Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who has reached out to us today and the past week. It means so much to us. I feel like we're assembling my army and it is truly awesome.
Prayers..
